the next iPhone might change a lot after the United States government Antitrust lawsuit against Apple
The United States launched a lawsuit against Apple proclaiming that Apple is running a monopoly on the market where they intentionally degrade the experience on non-apple devices such as Android.
This Behaviour makes it seem that other devices are inferior to iPhones ,and encourages people to purchase iPhones while harming the reputation of other brands.
The lawsuit states that Apple is monopolising the market, not by making its product better, but by making other products worse.
There are countless examples where Apple intentionally degraded the experience when dealing with phones from other companies just to look like the innovative Superior option in the market.
One example of this behaviour is the blue bubble and the green bubble, if an Android device sends a picture to an iphone, the picture will be low quality just to make the iPhone user think that Android is bad.which is done intentionally by Apple.
The same thing does not happen if an iPhone user sends a picture to another iPhone, which creates a stigma against Android users, that in some situations it leads to discrimination based on what device the users use.
another example is using Apple earbuds on Android devices, if you do so you will not be able to check the battery percentage on the case or the earbuds themselves, and you also lose the ability to use the Google assistant in your phone, all these flows are designed to make iPhone devices look better and to make Android device look like cheap incapable phones
What could happen if Apple lost the antitrust lawsuit ??
The first possible outcome is the company will be forced to break up into smaller divisions or sell some divisions. which will make it easier for the government to follow up with the changes imposed on Apple.
The second possible outcome is for Apple to make changes to its devices so it does not discriminate against other phone users,in this situation if Apple reversed its action there will still be a social stigma against Android users because the damage is already done.
The third possible outcome is that Apple could be forced to change the CEO and rewrite its policies.
Another possible option that already happened to Apple before, is the ban of selling its product until it changes the design.
earlier this year Apple watches were banned from selling because they are used unlicensed technology so it’s very possible to see the same ruling against Apple
the last possible outcome which is most likely is for apple to be fined to compensate for the damages it caused
